Using Vinegar as a Household Cleaner
One great way to save some extra money and help to make the earth a better place is to clean with all natural cleaning products. Cleaning can be accomplished without the use of any harmful chemicals and it can be accomplished for a lot less. One of the very best ways to clean your windows is with vinegar and water. Many people are under the false impression that homemade cleaning solutions do not work as well and this is not the case.
When people try vinegar and water on their windows for the first time they will notice that there are streaks left over. This is not caused by the cleaning solution. It is actually caused by the commercial cleaners used on the windows before hand. These commercial cleaners leave a very slight wax residue on the surface of the window and vinegar alone is not strong enough to remove that wax. If on the first time you use vinegar to clean windows you add a little liquid soap the windows will be cleaned streak free.
Another great place to use vinegar is cleaning rugs. Normal carpet cleaners leave a chemical residue on the carpet fibers and this coating will eventually wear away the carpet, not to mention it leaves it feeling dirty. Vinegar will get a carpet very clean and leave it smelling fresh. One more important thing about vinegar is that it will clean off that chemical residue that other cleaners leave behind. Using a diluted solution of white distilled vinegar on carpets is a great way to leave them cleaned and refreshed.
Homemade cleaners are a great solution to costlier harmful chemicals. They will do just as good of a job if not better, and they will not harm the environment. By switching to all natural cleaners we can slowly stop the flow of chemicals in to the atmosphere and bring it back to its natural order.
